I had a mixed experience at the Grand Emir Hotel. The location was fantastic, being close to major attractions like the Grand Bazaar and Hagia Sophia. but I found the rooms quite outdated and small, which made my stay less comfortable. Despite some polite and helpful staff, the facilities left much to be desired, especially the poor breakfast options.

Rooms

The rooms were very small and outdated. the shower had issues, including a loose head and an awkward door design. It really felt cramped, and the cleanliness could have been improved.
Service

The staff were friendly and did their best. I appreciated their efforts, but the service couldn't compensate for the hotel's shortcomings.

The hotel is located near the Grand Bazaar and other tourist attractions. but the area can get noisy due to the bustling trade nearby.

Breakfast was quite basic and not very appealing. I would recommend skipping it and exploring nearby cafes instead.

My stay at the Grand Emir Hotel Old City was quite a mixed bag. While the location was excellent for reaching nearby attractions like the Grand Bazaar and historic sites, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the outdated facilities and poor breakfast selection really detracted from the experience.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was very small and dated. Unfortunately, it lacked basic conveniences like tea/coffee facilities and drinking water (which is a must for me). The shower was quite problematic too, causing water to flood the bathroom every time I used it.
Service
5.0
The staff were generally polite and responsive, though there were some language barriers. They tried their best to assist, but I did have some frustration with the handling of luggage and check-in procedures.
Location
6.0
The hotel is located perfectly for those wanting to visit sites like the Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque. However, the surrounding area felt a bit sketchy at night and was quite messy, which was a bit off-putting.
Dining

Breakfast was largely the same every day and frankly, I found it better to skip it and grab something from one of the local cafes instead. However, I did appreciate the cappuccino machine available in the dining area.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were limited, with only basic services like room cleaning. I also noticed that the Wi-Fi was quite poor and not reliable, which was frustrating during my stay.

My stay at Grand Emir Hotel Old City was a mixed bag. The location is stellar, putting me right next to major attractions like the Grand Bazaar and Hagia Sophia. However, the room was quite small and had some major issues like a leaking shower and a lack of basic necessities like drinking water. The breakfast was pretty disappointing too, just cold items with little variety. It's a decent place if all you need is a bed after a busy day exploring, but I expected a bit more comfort.

The room I got was small and had several issues, like a leaking shower and a non-functional shower door. Plus, there was no tea or coffee facilities and no drinking water available. Overall, it felt quite outdated.

I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, especially with any inquiries I had. They were polite and seemed to do their best despite the hotel's issues.
Location

The location is fantastic, with easy access to major tourist spots, which made it convenient for me to explore Istanbul. It's right in a busy area, so there's lots to do nearby.
Dining

Breakfast was pretty lackluster, featuring the same cold items every day. I opted to skip it after a few days and looked for better meals at local cafes.
Facilities

Facilities were basic, with only one elevator that could barely fit me and my luggage. There were additional services offered, but I didn't really use them.

My stay at Grand Emir Hotel Old City was a mixed bag. While the location was fantastic, being just a short walk from major attractions like Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar, the room I initially received was not what I expected. It was quite small and dated, which made the experience less enjoyable. Fortunately, the staff was helpful, doing their best to accommodate me, and the cleaning service was excellent, keeping the room tidy.

Rooms

The room I first got was small and dated. It lacked ventilation and felt cramped. However, after complaining, I was moved to a better one with a view, though it was noisy due to the elevators.
Service

The service from the staff was friendly, with one employee, Maradona, particularly standing out for his helpfulness. However, some of the hotel policies were frustrating, like not allowing me to leave my bags after checkout.
Location

The hotel's location is its biggest asset. It's very close to historical sites, making it easy to explore the city. But be prepared for some noise due to its position in a busy trading area.
Dining

Breakfast was quite basic and repetitive, which I found disappointing. I’d recommend heading to nearby cafes for a better morning meal.
Facilities

The facilities seemed limited. The hotel didn't have many dining options, and the internet connectivity was poor, which was frustrating at times.

I had high hopes for my stay at the Grand Emir Hotel Old City, given its ideal location near major attractions. Sadly, the experience was marred by several issues including tiny rooms and a lack of basic amenities. Despite this, the staff was friendly and tried to help, which was a silver lining amidst the problems.

Rooms
5.0
The room I got was cramped and didn't even have a window. The bathroom door was broken, making it a real hassle. Plus, there was a consistent bad smell from the nearby cafeteria, and I heard disturbing noises from above, which I suspect was rodents.
Service
5.0
The staff, including folks like Ibrahim and Ayoub, were genuinely helpful and friendly. I appreciated their efforts, especially when I lost my key card and they didn't charge me a dime.
Location

The location was a highlight; it’s a short walk to key sites like the Grand Bazaar and Hagia Sophia. However, the area was quite messy and noisy due to the busy market all around.
Dining

Breakfast was pretty lackluster and repetitive. If I had to do it again, I’d definitely skip it and hit one of the cafes instead, as the dining area felt overcrowded and messy most mornings.
Facilities

Facilities were limited; I was disappointed with the lack of basic things like drinking water in the rooms, and the heating was way too high—definitely not comfortable!
